Salute to Long-Term Greater Kansas City Chapter Leader!
The Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) salutes Reginald J. Smith of the Greater Kansas City Chapter for the leadership and support he provides to the local chapter and national organization. In addition to being one of the chapter’s founding and continuous members for 19 years, Reggie provides the organization with a “Week in Review” newsletter that explains U.S. economic highlights and is posted in the Resource Section of the UFSC’s national website on a weekly basis.
Reggie’s professional background includes a 36-year career in mortgage banking, primarily residential but commercial as well. This background provides him with the experience to navigate products that fit individual circumstances no matter how the overall market is reacting. Reggie has witnessed all types of highs and lows in the industry, worked with the secondary market governmental sponsored enterprises, the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City on Consumer Affairs, industry level organizations and community based organizations. His career has been spent in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and divided between UMB for 23 years at President of UMB Mortgage; Countrywide Mortgage for 3 years as a Home Mortgage Consultant; and MoBank Mortgage (f/n/a Bank of Kansas City Mortgage Group) for 10 years as a Community Development Mortgage.
Reggie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Business Administration Degree in Accounting and Finance from Arkansas State University. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and resides with his family in Leawood, KS.
