CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC) and Banking on Our Future (BOOF) Maryland join forces to support the Capitol City Hoops Classic in Annapolis, Maryland, May 24-26, 2014.
On Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, 2014, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM UFSC will have a Financial Literacy Day of Service where YOU can volunteer to teach elite basketball players the importance of understanding money and personal finance. We need 5 more volunteers to teach in two hour teaching blocks between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
The financial literacy workshops will take place at Pip Moyer Recreation Center at Truxton Park, 273 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, Maryland, 21403. BOOF- Maryland will provide training and financial literacy curriculum to all volunteers. This will be an exciting opportunity for financial professionals like YOU to interact with our youth and share critical financial empowerment and education during the UFSC Day Financial Literacy Weekend of Service in Annapolis, Maryland.
There will be one last volunteer webinar training sessions that will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, 6:30 pm – 7:30pm. Webinar details will be provided to those who register to volunteer.

Operation HOPE Banking on Our Future (BOOF) program educates youth ages 9-18 at no cost to school districts and community-based organizations, with a focus on urban, underserved communities. The program consists of five modules that have been designed for use across the U.S. The modules have been aligned with the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics compiled by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The modules are delivered by members of Operation HOPE’s volunteer HOPE CORPS, who not only provide information and skills that are critical in establishing a strong financial foundation, while exposing students to both role models for academic success an a wealth of professional opportunities.
